Family support groups are a great way to meet others for practical and emotional support. Most support groups are set up and run by parents and carers of people with additional needs.

The Trust firmly believes that families and significant others play a vital role in the continuing care of their loved ones and we very much welcome their involvement and input. After all, they have entrusted us with their most precious possession.

We are very proud of our family support group “Carers and Sharers” which is currently only available to families whose sons or daughters live here or access any of the Trust’s facilities.

 We offer:

  • friendship
  • opportunities to socialise and meet other people in a similar position
  • information and advice
  • emotional and moral support
  • confidentiality
  • always a listening ear
  • a regular meeting place
  • siblings very welcome

We meet on a quarterly basis and some of the topics we have covered are:-

  • Benefits
  • Wills and Trusts
  • Future projects at The Orchard Trust
  • End of Life information
  • Carers Gloucestershire

If you would like further information about the group, please contact Val Howard on 01594 861137 or email val.howard@orchard-trust.org.uk

If you would like to speak to someone about benefits/entitlements, please contact Fran Palmer on 01594 861137 or email fran.palmer@orchard-trust.org.uk

We look forward to hearing from you

  • Sunday 9th July saw the annual summer fair of Orchard Trust.  The sun shone on the record number of visitors to the day service site in Lydbrook and they were able to enjoy live music from Which One’s Gerry and Lydbrook Training band, birds of prey, a traditional Punch and Judy show, roaming Reptiles along with lots of stalls and games.
