Donate
As a charity that offers so much, we need the support of individuals who can give their time or financial assistance to enable us to continue our work.
All our expenses and administration costs are kept to a minimum and donors may choose how they would like their money to be spent. Just let us know if you wish your donation to be put towards one of our specific projects.

Current Projects
The Orchard Trust currently has several exciting projects taking place that need your support.
Your generosity can help raise valuable funds towards our work.
Build a Future
Appeal to raise £1.3 Million
Build a Future - The Redevelopment of Offa's Dyke
Our biggest current project. Below is an artists impression of how the finished home will look.

The people who live at Offa's Dyke embrace life with determination, humour and enthusiasm. Using their inspiration we are launching our Offa's Dyke appeal to develop purpose built accommodation which will significantly improve the lives of the people living there. Many of the people who live at Offa's Dyke have profound and multiple learning disabilities and can be totally dependent on others to do everyday tasks. We want to provide assistive technology to give them more control and help them to live their lives as normally and independently as possible.
This equipment will enable the individuals we support to carry out everyday tasks such as closing a window, turning a light on and off and selecting television channels - many of the simple things that we may take for granted.
With your help the appeal is aiming to raise £1.3 Million in order to rebuild and equip the home and create a brighter future for adults with learning disabilities.
This is how you can help...........
Donating to Build A Future
A donation of £5-£100 will buy bricks or roof tiles so that brick by brick we will help to secure a future for the people we support and care for.
A donation of £100-£1,000 will go towards providing a door, a window, a cooker, a tumble dryer, or raised beds for the garden. You or your club/organisation/company will be making a real difference to people's lives.
A donation of £1,000+ will enable a bedroom to be fitted out with assistive technology which will make simple things possible. Drawing the curtains, answering the door, turning on the TV or making a phone call can all be achieved using electronic/infrared technology for people with disabilities who have the desire, but lack the tools for independence.
In recognition of all contributions to our Build A Future Appeal, you will receive a Build A Future Certificate of Donation together with a letter of thanks - please just let us have your contact details once you have made your donation so that we can forward this to you.
Build A Future Appeal Update
We have now completed the first stage of the rebuild and the new home is called Silver Birch House. Everyone is very happy with their new home which provides a pleasant and relaxed living and working environment. Work has now commenced to demolish the old building, leading to the construction of a further house to be called The Oaks which is expected to be completed by late summer/early autumn 2012.
BUT WE STILL NEED YOUR HELP - Please continue to help us raise the funds required to build the second home and equip both homes with assistive technology to help provide people with more independence.
Swim Gym
Our Swim Gym is now fully open and people from services around the Trust are benefitting from this superb facility, which incorporates a rebound therapy trampoline, exercise pool and jacuzzi. To enable people to get the best experience possible from the Swim Gym, we would like to purchase a second shower trolley, a floating head support for pool use, a touch reactive light tunnel for the rebound room and a large ride on roll for the trampoline.
