Sevenoaks

Sevenoaks is situated in the historic market town of Coleford and is a site with two spacious five and six bedded bungalows, set in extensive private grounds. One bungalow is split level, the other purpose built and fully wheelchair accessible.
The home was opened in 1999 and currently caters for adults with a range of learning disabilities, including physical disabilities and additional needs associated with autism and sensory impairments.
Each person at the home has their own person centred plan and staff are fully trained to meet all aspects of people’s individual needs. Additional support in this respect also comes from the full involvement of allied professionals, from the local Community Learning Disability Team, such as occupational, speech and physiotherapy.
Sevenoaks provides a very homely environment that respects and supports individuality and promotes a person’s need for privacy, choice, respect and dignity. Bedrooms are the person’s own private space and people are encouraged and supported to decorate and furnish their rooms to meet individual tastes and needs.
Everyone is encouraged and supported to get involved in activities they enjoy. These include a wide range of both educational, therapeutic and leisure activities. People from the home go to The Orchard Trust’s Learning Centre, hydrotherapy, swimming, rebound therapy, music therapy as well as partaking in regular and various leisure activities in the surrounding community.
People also go on holidays selected to meet their individual needs and with full staff support.
