Training & Development
The Orchard Trust training department based at The Lodge (see left) offers training across both the Health and Social Care Sector and has diversified into training and development in other sectors. We are an accredited centre with City and Guilds, NCFE, NCON and CIEH. Our own staff are offered National Vocational Qualifications in Health and Social Care levels 2 and 3. Staff also undertake the LDQ Induction Award in Supporting People with a Learning Disability, whose units run alongside the Skills For Care Common Induction Standards, and this course is one of many that we offer out to other organisations.
We also deliver Accredited courses in teaching/training and leadership, such as Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector (PTTLLS), and Effective Leadership in Care, which provide a solid foundation for those climbing the career ladder.
We offer accredited courses in First Aid, Food Hygiene, Moving and Handling, together with courses we have developed such as Introduction to Learning Disability, Equality and Diversity, Person Centred Planning, Interviewing Skills, Coaching Skills, Documentation and Record Keeping, Autism Awareness and Provision of Activities in a Care Setting (PACS).
The Training Department has evolved from a wealth of knowledge and expertise acquired from working in both the care industry, alongside people who have learning difficulties, and in business and management. The team has professional qualifications that enable quality teaching and learning to take place. As an Investors in People organisation we continually challenge ourselves to advance our performance through the development and training of people.
We take pride in our training and offer a friendly approach, working closely with our students and customers to gain a better understanding of individual and organisational needs, resulting in a high success rate. We offer expertise in many areas and are flexible and adaptable in our approach to offer a tailored programme package to meet your requirements.
We welcome enquiries and would be happy to discuss your training and development needs.
