Supported Living in the Forest of Dean
The Orchard Trust has recently purchased a new house in Lydney, Gloucestershire and following extensive alterations it is now a superbly equipped home to three adults with learning disabilities; there are currently two vacancies.
The house is situated in a suburban street, a few minutes walk from the town centre. People living in the home are encouraged to participate in local activities and to become part of their wider community.
This is an interesting and exciting new venture for The Trust and our first in Supported Living. The principle of Supported Living enables individuals to explore independence and maintain and enhance their skills within an environment and support structure tailored to their needs.
